Strength training for runners and triathletes in London.
Get stronger without losing your legs for the next key session. Strength, power and injury prevention planned around your race calendar, from a coach who is training for Ironman France 2027.
Why strength
Fewer niggles, stronger finishes.
Run and ride economy
Heavy, well-timed strength work helps you hold pace for longer at the same effort.
Injury prevention
Calves, hips and trunk built to take the mileage — the usual weak links in endurance athletes.
Measured, not guessed
Loads, rest and how heavy it felt are logged in the app, so every block builds on the last.
Fits your training week
Sessions placed away from your hardest runs and rides, so strength helps instead of competing.
Through the season
The plan changes as your race gets closer.
- Off-season
- Build strength and fix weak links. The heaviest phase.
- Base
- Keep the strength, add power and plyometrics gradually.
- Build
- Lower volume, high quality. Short sessions that keep you fresh.
- Race week
- Light maintenance only — nothing new, nothing sore.
FAQ
Runner and triathlete questions.
Will lifting make me heavy or slow?
No. The work targets strength and stiffness of muscles and tendons, not size, and the volume is kept low.
How many strength sessions a week?
Usually two in the off-season and one to two during the season, depending on your training load.
Can you work around my coach's plan?
Yes. Tell me your key sessions and races and the strength work is placed around them.
Where do sessions take place?
In a private gym studio in Putney, a few minutes from Fulham.
